Divine smell!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this in conjunction with the other products in the same range, so I'm not sure whether this specific product works with other brands, but it seemed to work well with this range. Firstly, the smell is absolutely divine and deserves 5 stars just for that!
This is the first time I've used a pre-shampoo product as I usually just do a double shampoo, but I left it on damp hair for the directed time of 5 minutes before applying the the second product, and my hair did feel slightly silkier and more hydrated.
I can't definitively say this product is absolutely necessary, hence the 4 stars, however I would use it just for the amazing smell!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Not a great curl for the cost!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this pre shampoo, doesn't lather up but softens hair ready for step 2 in a total of 4 steps to complete these products. step 1 has a very nice smell but I have a lot of hair and very thick and this was hard to spread through my hair evenly.
The end result of the 4 step process for my curly hair worked at the very start, but unfortunately it didn't hold my curls for very long they dropped out after 3 hours and i tried using step 3 and 4 the next day to refresh the curls but it only resulted in making my hair feel full of product with not a great curl, maybe just a wavey look.
I had to rewash my hair again the next day to get the same result.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This step felt a little unfamiliar to me, as I haven’t really used a pre-shampoo before. I liked the texture and how easily it worked through my hair, and while I wasn’t entirely sure what it was meant to be doing, I think it helped kick-start the hydration process. It left my curls feeling softer, more manageable, and noticeably smoother to the touch. It definitely prepped my hair nicely for the rest of the routine and made detangling much easier than usual. Overall, I liked it more than I expected to, but I think I’d need more time using it consistently to fully understand its long-term purpose and benefits within the full wash routine.
Yes, I recommend this product.

deeply hydrating and nourishing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Garnier Fructis curl set in the last week and noticed my curls were more defined and hydrated. I have chemically curled hair; and using the pre-shampoo was a game changer. The pre-shampoo restored hydration, and was a nicely scented cream that i applied generously to my hair for 30min underneath a shower cap. I felt my hair really felt soft and hydrated when i was rinsing this off to apply the next step, which is the shampoo in the same range, and then conditioner. Post spray and blowdrying, i noticed my curls were more radiant and hydrated; and defined. My hair also looks less chemically damaged and my hair ends were less dry.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A lovely pre-wash treatment
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do like to use a pre-shampoo in my routine and this one was really nice to use as it has a lovely scent and was easy to get from the bottle and rinse!
The instructions say to put it on damp hair, I use a spray bottle to damp mine down and apply this to the whole length of my hair then carry on getting ready for my shower while it does it's job. It usually gets longer than the recommended 5 mins this way but at least it saves me standing in the shower waiting those 5 mins out!lol
It's a really nice product which was a pleasure to use and I did notice that my curls seemed to be a bit bigger and bouncier after I started using this range
Yes, I recommend this product.

Deliciously scented pre-shampoo
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pre-shampoo is the first step in a four step hair styling routine from Garnier Fructis new Curls Method range.
The product is applied to wet hair prior to being shampooed, and it is advised that it is left in the hair for five minutes before washing out.
The product smells beautiful!!!! My daughter, who has curly hair and struggles to style it, was eager to try this range. She was complimented on the smell of her hair after using this! The product is white in colour and somewhat thick (not overly thick, just a nice smooth thickness that doesn’t add heaviness to the curls).
Not much is needed per application making it good value.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Game changer for curly and wavy hair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo has been a game-changer for my curls. The product is lightweight yet nourishing, and it preps my hair beautifully before cleansing. I love how it detangles easily and helps define my curls even before shampooing. It leaves my hair feeling soft, bouncy, and more manageable without weighing it down. The scent is fresh and fruity, which makes using it feel like a little self-care moment. I’ve also noticed less frizz and breakage since adding it to my routine. For best results, I apply it generously to damp hair, finger-detangle, and leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing and shampooing.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Hydration Boost
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is something new to me, a pre-shampoo before wash.
It is a treatment that starts the process by replenishing moisture and reinforcing the hair’s inner structure.
I damped my hair first and then spread the product over it and left it for about 5 minutes before wash.
The product has a subtle fragrance and is free from sulfate, silicone and alcohol. This means it’s gentle and won’t strip natural oils or cause buildup, making it great for curly or textured hair. It contains shear fatty acids and hyaluoric moisture complex.
I felt my hair was more bouncy, curls more defined after using this treatment.
Really happy with the result.

Not for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to try the Garnier Fructis Curl Method as a full Haircare regimen, and the pre shampoo is the 1st step.
It is supposed to be “a deeply hydrating treatment that starts the process by replenishing moisture and reinforcing the hair’s inner structure”. As far as I am concerned - my hair is on the thicker/ coilier end - I wouldn’t say that the product meets its claims. The experience might be different for looser curls though?
Overall I don’t feel like the curl method made my hair feel more hydrated, but I usually use higher end hair products.
In saying that the smell is pleasant and didn’t cause any issues to my sensitive skin.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Hydrated defined curls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bottle is very sturdy and easy to use. The product feels great and has a refreshing fragrance. The product is not heavy and has a good consistency. The prodict is easy to apply and spreads without any problem. After just one use my hairl felt fresh and hydrated. The curls were frizz free and defined. It left hair feeling soft and manageable. It is an amazing treatment with no silicone, alcohol and sulfate.
The hair is manageable with the pre treatment in between washes, helping manage the hair beautifully. My hair was frizz free and looked moisturised.
The only drawback is a decent quantity is required which is not economic.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Soft and bouncy curls!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If like me you love your curls but want them to be softer, bouncier, and more defined for a longer time then the Fructis Method for Curls Pre-Shampoo might be just what you're looking for. I’ve found it’s the perfect way to start my curl routine as it preps my hair so it soaks up every bit of moisture and stays hydrated. What I like most is how easy it is as I just smooth it onto damp hair, wait five minutes, and then continue with the rest of my routine. The difference after using the Fructis pre-shampoo is noticeable. My curls feel healthier, more manageable, and have that fresh-salon bounce. Plus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free which is a massive bonus.

Left hair feeling soft
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never used a pre-shampoo before but it smelt really nice and left my hair feeling soft. It had a nice clean scent that most Garnier products seem to have, staying consistent throughout the range so it leaves your hair smelling fresh by the end of your wash day. I’ve only used it for one wash so far but it’s a good idea for curly girls who leave most of their product in the mids and ends of their hair. You’re only meant to apply it to the mids and ends, leaving the roots out for the actual shampoo in step 2. Rinsing it out, it prepped my hair pretty well, leaving it feeling really soft and clean and ready for the next step in the Curls Method range.

Softer, Bouncier Curls in Just 5 Minutes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo, and it’s honestly been a game-changer for my wash days. The thick, creamy texture coats my curls easily, making detangling so much smoother and less frustrating. My hair feels soft, nourished, and hydrated even before shampooing, which is rare for me. I also love the fresh, fruity scent—it lingers lightly without being too strong. After rinsing, my curls look bouncier, shinier, and more defined. It does contain isopropyl alcohol, which some curlies avoid, but personally it didn’t dry my hair out. Overall, it’s a simple yet effective extra step that leaves my curls healthier, softer, and more manageable.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I loved this product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finding the right products for curly hair can sometimes feel like an endless journey. Anyone with curls knows how temperamental they can be — one day your hair is defined and bouncy, the next it’s dry, frizzy, and impossible to manage. That’s why I was so curious to try the Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo. The idea of a treatment you apply before shampooing felt different to me, but it actually makes a lot of sense. By preparing the hair before cleansing, the product helps lock in moisture and prevents curls from being stripped or weighed down. After using it consistently, I can confidently say this product has earned a permanent spot in my routine.

Hydrated even before shampooing? YES PLEASE!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bottle says to leave it in damp hair for about 5 mins before using shampoo but because I have quite a hectic schedule, I put it on damp hair in the morning, tie my hair back in a neat slick bun and leave it in for the rest of the day, get home after work and wash my hair and continue the other 3 steps following. Not sure if that's the reason for my hair feeling so hydrated and less frizzy but it works for me! At the moment I am on the hunt for a good diffuser so I'm air drying my hair for now and I think keeping it on longer is helping the air drying to not go as frizzy as it usually would (combined with the step 4 spray)

Pre shampoo newbie
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved trialling the Garnier Fructis Curls method range. Both my 18 year old daughter and I have curls which can be a bit frizzy at times. The pre-shampoo was a new step for me and I wasn’t sure it would as necessary at first but soon found it to be a really hydrating step in the range and made the shampoo foam more after using the pre-shampoo. Easy to use bottle and a little goes a long way. The smell was quite subtle but the other products make up for that. Loved the fact that there are no sulphates, silicones, or alcohol. Would recommend and happy to use in my hair care routine and noticed our hair felt more hydrated and less frizzy the more we used the products.

A new concept that I love!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lovely product and a concept I’ve never seen before - a pre-wash. It actually makes my hair much softer and I would recommend this to anyone who has dry curly hair like mine. It smells sweet - almost a bit fruity, which I’m not a big fan of, but it’s pleasant and you wash it off so it doesn’t leave any remaining or lingering smell. You use this product before washing your hair. You apply it to damp hair and leave it in your hair for 5 mins before washing your hair with shampoo. It’s a good way to hydrate your hair before using the shampoo and any preferred conditioner or mask. Bottle and packaging is cute too.

Fabulous!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These products are amazing for curly hair, i tried the whole range so my review is the same for all as they were all used at the same time. 4 products seems like its going to be a bit of a faff but nothing needs to stay on for crazy amounts of time and its all easy to do whole having your normal shower. I dont have any special defusing attachments fir my hair dryer so i was worried the products wouldnt work but i was wrong! Soft, bouncy curls with no crispy bits and they stayed in my hair all day, i have always felt my hair was more wavy than curly but since using these products i can see thats not the case, perfect if you want some lift and volume to your curls.

Good for extra moisturising!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who likes a quick shower, I wasn't sure that adding a 5 minute pre-wash was a step that I would be able to do on a regular basis, but I found it easier to fit this in than I expected, by applying as soon as I got in the shower. After using the 4-step treatment my hair is definitely feeling more hydrated and my curls are looking more defined. Following a 4-step process makes me feel like I am treating myself to a bit of extra pampering.
The only reason I rate this as a 4 rather than a 5, is because of the extra time involved. As someone who washes their hair frequently, I am not sure that I will commit to using this for the full 5-6 minutes for every wash.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Pleasant pre-shampoo treatment
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo, which is step one in their four-step hydrating hair care routine. The texture feels rich and creamy, and it’s easy to work through the hair before shampooing. After using it, my curls felt softer and a bit more defined, though I didn’t notice dramatic long-term results after the first use. The scent is fresh but not overpowering. It claims to refill curl moisture for up to one week, which might be accurate for those with less dryness than mine. Overall, it’s a pleasant pre-shampoo treatment that could work well as part of a consistent curl care routine.

Pre-Shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Pre-Shampoo from Garnier’s Curl Method range has really surprised me, I have hair that gets oily pretty quickly and I found that this product did not increase that how oily my hair got. I normally use conditioner liberally but did not need to when using this product and strait away felt the difference in the softness of my hair. This product doe require 5 minutes to sit and we hair not damp but did not inconvenience me in my shower routine in any way. I did comb my hair with the product in and had no issues. Such a great product and recommend using with the shampoo and mask then doing your normal curly routine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've recently tried a pre-shampoo treatment and I'm impressed. It softens and hydrates my hair before washing, making it more manageable and less dry. I apply it a few minutes before shampooing and notice a significant difference. Even without tight curls, it improves my hair's texture and moisture. It's a great first step in my routine.

New game changer for me!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a hairdresser with naturally wavy hair, I’d never used a pre shampoo treatment until I was gifted the Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo Treatment (200ml). I wasn’t sure how much difference it would make, but it was a total game changer. You apply it to damp hair, leave it for five minutes, then rinse out. The creamy texture gives great slip and made detangling effortless. My waves felt softer, more defined, and less frizzy. The fruity, fresh fragrance is gorgeous and leaves me wanting more. The formula is silicone and sulphate free, making it a great prep step to protect hair during washing. It’s affordable, easy to use, and I’ll definitely keep it in my routine.

Defined my curls but left them dry
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It helped define my curls but didn't reduce the frizz unfortunately. I have quite frizzy hair so I was hoping this, combined with the other products in the range, would help to settle the frizz and leave me with shiny, defined curls but unfortunately my hair felt quite dry and knotty, even after using all the products in the range. I used quite a lot of the hair mask and spray, so I'm not sure if something dried out my hair but this unfortunately didn't suit me. I also wasn't sure what the purpose of the pre-shampoo step was, and don't think I'd use this regularly as the instructions said to wait five minutes after application - something I don't always have the time to do.

Changing the face of curls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo is the first step in this incredible curl changing range.
A little tip - a little bit of product goes a long way!
This is a great 1st step to use in the curl range, i found it easy to use. The instructions were really helpful, as i was scared to get the steps in the range wrong.
I found after first use the curls were more defined.
I know that these ranges may not have worked as well, yet for the reasonable price it really does deliver, i have found my curls more defined, less frizzy, i am not tieing my hair back.
The curls are out and proud, as they should be.

Good one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this for my teenage kids with curly hair. The pre-shampoo treatment from this range worked well and definitely contributed to a good overall effect when used. It left the hair feeling prepped and ready for shampooing, which seemed to help with the final results. That said, my kids didn’t always see the point of it and sometimes skipped it altogether, going straight to shampoo instead—probably because they’re more familiar and comfortable with just shampooing. While it’s not an essential step for them, when they did remember to use it, it seemed to make a positive difference in their hair care routine.

Smooth hair but not sure how much it did
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have wavy but not curly hair, and normally just deal with a bit of frizz if air-drying my hair. I've never used a pre-shampoo before but found it simple to use on damp hair before shampoo (similar to a conditioner), with a pleasant, lightly fruity smell. I don't know if I would bother with this on a regular basis, as a new mum with not a lot of time to myself, however I did enjoy how silky my hair felt afterwards. I did actually end up blow drying my hair afterwards as it's the middle of winter, but possibly air drying my hair to release the wave pattern might show me whether this makes much of difference.

COMPLEMENTS THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who has gone through menopause with curly hair and come out the other end with not so curly hair I was really interested to the the Garnier Fructis Curls Method range to see if I could put some bounce back in my curls.
Step 1 is the Garnier Fructis Method Pre Shampoo.
I am not one to usually do too many different things to my hair in the shower , but taking an extra 5 minutes to have this pre-Shampoo in my hair was well worth it.
I felt my hair was well moisturized even before conditioning or a mask and it just felt really well nourished with this first step. I would definitely recommend buying the whole 4 step treatment for a more moisturized , bouncy curls feeling.

Hair is left silky and smooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to trial out this new shampoo because my hair has been really dry and frizzy especially the longer it gets. When I trialled this, I immediately noticed that my scalp felt softer and my hair generally felt a lot more clean. I often to get some dandruff particularly during the winter so I know that I needed something to keep my scalp nourished. After I dried my hair I noticed my hair was a lot silkier and smoother. What I also really like about this product is that it is free from sulphates, parabens and alcohol which means no harsh chemicals in my hair. I will definitely be recommending this to my family and friends as it has made a big difference in the way it looks.

I can get curlier hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed using this Garnier Fruictus 72 Hour Hydration Curl Methods Shampoo. This shampoo comes in a 200 millilitre bottle with purple accents and white font. It makes it easy to spot on my bathroom shelf. I liked using the same products from the same range my hair is wavy but using this curls method range I was able to get curlier hair. I guess my 16-year-old daughter is right if I look after my hair it looks better and I can get the curls that I want to achieve .
This Garnier Curl Methods shampoo has a slight fruity scent that is pleasant on my shoulder length hair. I could smell it throughout the day after shampooing and conditioning my hair with this curls method range.

Preaching for Pre-shampoo
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using a pre-shampoo, and I am glad to say that I liked it. The Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo has a nice scent and texture. The 20% Hyaluronic acid content kept my hair hydrated and prevented it from becoming brittle. I like the idea of a pre-shampoo as it reminds me to shampoo my hair twice, which many hairdressers recommend, but I tend to forget. I should mention that my hair tends to be dry and frizzy.
The Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo would have to be my favourite product from the whole Garnier Fructis Curls Method range, as it is unique and does a great job.

Easy First Step to Beautiful Hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the 4 step process starting with using Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo. I have wavy hair, that can sometimes look a little messed up and out of control, so need any help I can get.
I've never use a pre-shampoo, so was curious to give it a go. To use is simple, you just wet your hair and apply the Curls Method Pre-Shampoo, then you leave in your hair for 5 minutes. The pre-shampoo smelt amazing and felt great thinking I was giving my hair an extra thorough clean.
Afterward, my hair did feel nice to touch, and they lovley smell remained in my hair. I was happy with the results.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This surprised me!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sceptical about the idea of a pre-shampoo, I’ve never used it before. I think it did make a difference to the softness and overall condition of my hair though. It does make a shower a bit longer, and if you’re like me, every minute counts in the morning. I found it useful to wet my hair before my shower, put the preshampoo on, clip it up and let it do its thing while I make coffee, then hop in the shower to save on time. It had a nice scent, quite subtle and a cream texture. I used the system as a whole and found it very moisturising. Saying that, I’m not sure that this will be a indispensable part of my daily routine, but if it needed some tlc I’d definitely give this a try

Surprisingly Effective for Curl Prep!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the Garnier Fructis Curls Method Pre-Shampoo. As someone with dry, wavy-to-curly hair that’s prone to frizz and tangles, this product has made a noticeable difference. I use it before my usual wash routine, and it really helps soften and loosen my curls without stripping moisture.
It’s easy to apply, doesn’t feel greasy or heavy, and makes detangling way easier—which means less breakage and fewer knots. My curls look more defined and feel smoother after washing. Plus, the scent is fresh but not overpowering.
A great and affordable addition to any curly hair routine—especially if you’re trying to reduce damage and keep curls hydrated from step one.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A curl game-changer I didn’t expect!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ll be honest, I’d never used a pre-shampoo before, so I wasn’t expecting much. But wow, the difference this step makes is huge. The first time I used it, my curls came out so much more defined and frizz-free and now I notice a real drop in curl quality if I skip it. It softens my hair, makes detangling easy, and keeps my curls bouncy and hydrated all day.
I use it every time I wash my hair now because it’s just that good. It’s become a non-negotiable first step in my routine. I love that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and free from sulfates and silicones too. Honestly, I’m so happy I discovered this. My curly hair had been feeling very undefined and frizzy lately and it doesn't anymore.
Yes, I recommend this product.

First time was a win!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't even know what a pre shampoo was before trying this! I was initially quite skeptic, thinking it would just make my showers so much longer and take more time than was needed, but it helped strengthen my hair! I noticed a lot less dehydration and less breakage, especially when combing out my hair straight after a shower! Always a win when you have thin hair! The thick texture was also a bit worrying about whether it would weigh down my hair, but it washed out very well. It also added to my self care routine and everything shower, so was happy with the overall benefit to my hair care routine.

Nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm used to only using natural products as a pre cleanser so at first was sceptical of this product but it exceeded my expectations.
It has a nice scent to it which isn't over powering. I used this as part of the 4 step system and was impressed overall with how my hair looked and felt afterwards.
As someone with wavy curly hair its hard to find products that don't just weigh it down and make it look oily or dirty.
The system worked very well for me and I would purchase again.
Recommend you try if you have wavy/curly hair.
Also feel as though my hair stayed wash fresh for a little longer than normal.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Maybe good for some, not for me
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not likely to purchase.
I found it to be more of an inconvenient step for minimal benefit. The shampoo alone is hydrating enough for my particular hair. Having to leave it on damp ends for 5 minutes before shampooing, when the mask also has a 5 minute leave in time just adds so much time onto an already long hair care routine. I also found it didn't hydrate as much as just leaving what felt like a coating on my hair and it was difficult to wash out, making my ends feel weighed down.
I love the concept of a pre-shampoo as a cleansing and hydrating step but I wish it was more of a liquid rinse than a thick cream.
Probably more ideal for very coily hair that can handle some extra weight.
