I was skeptical but it’s really good. It works best for me as a leave in and minute mask. The smell is fabulous and I personally didn’t get any greasy results though my mother did but she also put in a ridiculous amount as a leave in. I have easily weighed down hair and through using this have just discovered my hair does curl all the way to the roots. Continued use has improved my hair beyond anything I recognise. I’m transitioning from stringy heat damaged wavy hair to lovely springy curls. I honestly feel like I wasted so much money on other products. I hope these masks stick around because they are amazing! Plus the price is great. It’s very expensive to keep curly hair healthy, but the cost of this lowers that expense.

Even salon use it!

My hair is very thick and long (waist long) and has always been rough, coarse, dry & damaged. I bleached & coloured for countless of times. So I asked my professional hairdresser friend on how can I restore my hair back. Thought she would recommend arm-cost of products but turns out she recommended this! And she even say that her salon is using this product for their customers as well.
I was actually shocked because i thought that salons always go for a specific salon-type of products. Anyways, this is my before and after photo. I had it as an overnight mask and THIS IS THE RESULT FROM JUST 1 APPLICATION.

Holy Grail: Shiny and Soft

I have repurchased this conditioner twice now, going through the sizeable tub so quickly! My hair type is oily roots and dry ends, and this is the only conditioner I have tried that gives my hair unprecedented shine and softness without excessive oil. Just apply to length and ends at the start of your shower - avoiding roots unless you want to amp up your fringe - and leave in whilst you go about your business before rinsing.

I have found a new favourite hair mask!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On first impressions, I love the packaging of this. It’s vibrant and stands out. As soon as you open it, it smells unreal!! I used it as a hair mask before washing my hair all over my roots and ends. As I washed it out of my hair, it was already looking glossy. Did my usual shampoo and conditioner routine. I knew this was a great product after first use as my hair was so soft when wet and drying which it’s never felt this soft. My hair is looking glossy and silky, feels unreal and that’s just using it as a hair mask once. I can’t wait to try use it as a leave in-conditioner or as conditioner like it explains you can. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Smooth and glossy hair

So, after applying it, I would say that the quality of my hair has definitely improved and I have far less split ends and it's far less dry whenever I let it dry naturally. It applies really well and it doesn't leave your hair feeling too greasy. The product is not too heavy and its super. easy to wash out. You only need to apply a small amount it's really good value for money. The smell is really nice. It smells like fresh bananas and a lot of the ingredients that go into making this product are especially formulated to help promote healthy hair.

Not only does this leavee yourr hair smelling so good! The amount of compliments you get. But it has done amazing things for my hair i wasn't going to buy this as im skeptical of most hair products but i bought it and it has made my hair so softt and silky. Something my hair has never been since i have thick long brown hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I have to say I was super impressed by this hair mask I have white/blonde hair with bleaching my hair and as a result my hair has compromised I usually buy expensive hair masks to try and help but this is definitely gonna be my one to go now it left my hair so soft and nourished the smell actually wanted me to eat it smelt so nice it’s a scent that u can smell for days
It not only worked the first time of using but I really felt such a difference in my hair it felt welt conditioned and soft I’m so glad I had the opportunity to test this it’s definitely a game changer and a keeper for me try it for yourself you certainly won’t be disappointed

The banana one smells amazing and leaves my daughter's curls beautiful, but unfortunately it left a nasty rash on her shoulders and back where her hair sits. We unfortunately cant use again. But its still a decent product, maybe just not for delicate skin.

Amazing for detangling and moisturising

It applied really well to my hair and absorbed into my curls easily. I’m not the biggest fan of Bananas so I was sceptical of trying this product. I was pleasantly surprised by the scent of this conditioner, it wasn’t too strong by left my hair smelling amazing. It has great slip so I was able to detangle my hair easily and quickly. When I rinsed the conditioner out, my curls were soft, bouncy and shiny. I’ve also added some of it a spray bottle to refresh my hair throughout the week. I love that this conditioner is a multi-use product

I just had blonde highlights and this as helped smooth and condition abd repair the danage . This has alittle bit of protein that bleched hair loves and needs to repair itself. The smell is amazing. I had loads of compliments , asking what purfume i had on . ... answer none it was my hair . I use the full range shampoo and conditioner and wouldn't use anything else's. One last tip u can use as pre- wash .... put on dry hair leave for 10-30 mins shampoo off in shower hair is lush no knots so if you or your child have knotty hair which is hard to comb try this its amazing.

Easy application to my hair, as per instructions I spreaded it over my scalp and my ends. Left in for 5 minutes. I washed my hair and dried and I could smell the banana on my hair so freshly. The next day I could still smell it like I just washed it. I showered next after 3 days and I could smell the banana in my hair for the full 3 days and probably longer. My partner loved the smell in my hair haha. It made my hair so soft like I've just had a hair cut and really got rid of dryness in my hair. I love this product and I will be definitely be buying this.

I used it as a conditioner in the shower, a hair mask when I'm hair needs some TLC and I put it on my hair as a leave it after every wash. I find it work well putting it on wet hair and combing through or if my hair is unruly in the morning, a tiny bit put through the ends really helps stop the frizz. I have about 3 of the range and I can't pick my favourite, they all work amazing and the smells of each one is just beautiful. My hair is soft and manageable without being weighed down, it's my go to hair product.

My new go to for my bleached unruly hair

Firstly I love it’s not got that awful artificial banana smell.
It’s lightweight but intense which so many products like this are normally one or the other.
I get greasy roots and very dry ends and this balanced well.
I used as a treatment mask and then added some to my ends and a leave in and just loved how it made my hair feel. Very soft, silky and not weighed down.
My husband used it to tame flyaways and loved it too.
My only gripe is I had to use a lot of it, BUT I do have ALOT of thick long hair.
This will definitely be my new go to treatment

The pot is massive and will no doubt last a long time.
I've used the mask a few times and love the thick creamy consistency which I can work through my thick long hair without issue, I never use hair products sparingly as my hair is far too thick and long and tends to be on the dry (dehydrated) side not so much frizzy as I once thought. This hair mask works wonders and leaves my hair smelling gorgeous, manageable and soft to the touch. I will continue to use the hair mask several times a week as my hair needs it.

My favourite ultimate foods product! Smells divine

Firstly it smells divine! It's like the ultimate holiday scent that just instantly reminds you of summer!
I generally use it as a deep conditioning mask which I leave on for 3-5 minutes (though I have left it on for up to 1hr wrapped in a hot towel) and not only does my hair feel softer and healthier afterwards it always seems thicker and more voluminous.
On days that I just do a quick hair wash I like to use a small amount as a leave in conditioner which also works great especially of you apply it before bed as I find it really helps with styling your hair the next day!

The tub is large (not ideal for anyone with a smaller shower or no shelf) but great as you can get every last bit out - unlike a bottle!
I prefer to use this as a mask, leaving it in for a good 5 minutes, rather than as a quick conditioner. I used a good dollop on my shoulder length hair and although it didn’t apply as easily as a conventional conditioner with silicones, it didn’t weigh my hair down, rinsed out easily and left the delicious scent through my hair.
Overall I would recommend this product.

Versatile conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product, as the name suggests, can be used in three different ways.
One is as a Leave-In conditioner; I haven't yet tried this.
I've used it as a combination of the other two; Conditioner (which they say can be rinsed out immediately) and Mask (to be left on for 3 minutes)
I always do leave my conditioner on for around 20/30 minutes anyway (I have nearly waist length hair, which is fairly dry) so I've used this in the same way.
I've found it detangles my hair (which does tend to tangle easily) rather well, makes it feel smoother, and the scent is nice too.
A pretty good product at a good price!

I've used this as a quick conditioner once when I was pushed for time but this evening finally tried it out as a mask whilst having a bit of a pamper sesh in the bath. Although the first time, it left my hair soft, tonight I saw its full potential.
Firstly, it smells amazing (if you like bananas!) but the fragrance doesn't seem to last long on my hair.
I left the mask on for 15 minutes whilst I did a mini facial then rinsed out thoroughly and dried it. I was left with beautifully soft, shiny hair. It's much more difficult to show shine on ginger hair than on a darker colour, but just checkout this gloss!

Multifunctional and smells delicious !

Over the last few years I’ve been on a constant mission to find products that really work and this one does. Firstly it’s a great big tub so good value for money but secondly it can be used as a conditioner, mask and also as a leave in product. I found that all three ideas work well and give you tangible results, but my favourite use is to use as a finishing product, just the tiniest amount smoothed onto the surface of my hair and into the curls. Love it and would definitely repurchase.

Not right for my hair

I like the versatility of it as it depends on where I am in my curly hair cycle as to whether I want to style my hair from wet or dry.
Because of the silicone I was nervous of the effect it would have on my hair. I have a natural curly afro and i generally avoid silicone based products as a rule.
I used it a few times and found that although the smell was a bit young for me, it defined my curls beautidully and left my hair feeling soft on day one. From day two though my hair felt coated and stiff which is why I wouldn't recommend this product.

Needs better packaging

I think I would have given this product another star if it was better packaged. The twist lid tub is not practical at all and the tub itself is quite large which is great value for money but it doesn’t sit well on a shelf or fit in a shower caddy.
I hated this as a leave in product. It left my hair oily and heavy. But as a mask/conditioner it worked very well. I substituted it for my normal conditioner once per week and noticed the difference, particularly when blow drying!
I love the smell of this, its very refreshing!
I think this will be in my rotation for a while as a little goes a long, long way.

This is a great hair mask, smells amazing and makes hair soft and shiny when left in the hair a while. This is how I would recommend this product be used. As a conditioner I didn't really notice anything more that my usual conditioner, so think this is an expensive use of the product and needs to be left in longer.
As a leave in conditioner, this product works and smells amazing, but it does feel a bit too much like I've got product in my hair. Prefer hair oils to this.
Would use as a mask happily, but think there are better product for the other uses.

I opted for this one as it seemed most suited to my needs, I always enjoy trying new hair masks as I feel like they give my hair a much needed dose of TLC.
This particular product has a lovely scent and felt amazing after first application. It definitely provided my hair with good dose of nourishment as it felt silky smooth once dry.
I also love how natural the formula itself is, it helps to reassure you what exactly you are putting on your hair and you’re safe in the knowledge of knowing it’s full of goodness. I’d also be interested in trying the other varieties available of this hair mask.

Unexpected volume!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I tried this as a deep conditioning treatment, leaving it in for 5 minutes. I have very dehydrated hair, and usually use a mask at least once a week. The conditioning effects were perfectly adequate, nothing out of the ordinary. But when I dried and styled my hair I noticed that it had a lot more volume than it usually does when I deep-condition it, it hadn't been weighed down and didn't look or feel lank, which was an unexpected bonus. Then I tried it as a daily conditioner, and again, a perfectly OK conditioner for normal to dry hair, just not necessarily the best I've ever used. As a plus, the banana smell is fruity but not too strong, and I didn't smell of bananas afterwards!

The formula is almost like a lightly whipped conditioner. I expected it to be a thicker consistency. It was easy to apply and work through my hair. I left it on as a mask. It rinsed out well and I could comb through my hair without any tangles or knots. I’ve noticed an improvement over time. My hair feels healthier, smoother and nourished. Gave me an allergic reaction

Smells good, not bad for my hair, but on my neck I came out in a red itchy rash. Not sure what on the ingredients list would have made this happen, in my life I've only known to be allergic to a couple things, none of which are on the list. I tried using it twice in case it was not the conditioner, first time was in the shower, second time I used dry as a leave in conditioner but both times I got a rash. Can recommend for hair but beware of how it reacts to your scalp/skin.

I used this hair product for months. It made my hair soft and shiny and i loved it. When I went to get my hair dyed again as a blond it reacted with the colour product and my hair started breaking off. This product creates a film on the hair to make it soft and shiny but doesn’t actually repair. Very disappointing and my stylist was shocked.

I used the product for continuous 3 weeks now, and will keep going using it, because all the benefits that's provided
The mask for example I used also like leave in conditioner, when on the second or third day I don't have time to wash my hair, and the mask is providing with this instant hydration and separation and fantastic boost of freshness, without the need to wash your hair
Everyone with curly hair will understand what I mean, the products are giving a definition for a great look

Fantastic conditioning treatment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have highlighted hair so this has been a lovely treat. I have been leaving on my hair as treatment for 15 minutes then rinsing and my hair is so soft and more manageable my hair had been feeling a bit dry lately so this is a great treatment for that. With the weather getting hotter I tend to get frizzy ends so I have also used this as a leave in conditioner on the ends and found it helped to keep them looking smooth and sleek but it is too heavy to use as an all over leave in conditioner.
The smell is lovely and the consistency is really thick and lush. Just right for a hair treatment.

Excellent conditioning hair mask product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Banana and Shea Hair Food is made specifically for dry hair types and I've noticed a big difference in the texture and appearance of my dry and damaged hair since using it. My hair is more shiny and smooth and the appearance of flyaways is a lot less. I have quite fine and flat hair and was worried this would weigh it down but it didn't do. I have used the product as a mask (after shampooing leaving in for around 20 minutes), although it says it can also be used like a normal conditioner and as a leave-in product. This mask smells incredible and it is also silicone free which is something I now always look for in my hair products. All-in-all a great product - I can't recommend it enough!

Delicious for hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This conditioner smells so good, like a banana split! It felt very thick and creamy a little goes a long way. I liked it best as a regular conditioner it detangled and left my hair soft, shiny and nourished. I used it as a hair mask which was really nice too but I think it was a little heavy for my very fine hair, I would only use occasionally as a mask. I also tried it as a leave in conditioner - it detangled and smoothed the ends out but again it seemed a little heavy for my fine hair and made it look a bit flat. Still 5 * conditioner as works wonders as a regular conditioner for me!

Left my hair dry

I thought I would try this product as I know how wonderful Garnier are at their product smells and blends.
I have dry hair and when I saw these lined up at my local Coles at a lower price point I grabbed one.
Nourishing banana sounded like it would be great for my hair. Unfortunately it did not nourish my dry hair ( dyed blonde for years now so quite dry ) it actually made it feel dry and tangled.
I was looking forward to a mask to replenish so nutrients into my hair.
The smell is amazing and I definitely feel it wasn’t too much.
The packaging was a nice big tub however hard to navigate in the shower.
I wouldn’t but this particular blend again but would be willing to maybe try a different mix.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This Hair Food can be used as a normal everyday conditioner, rinse out mask and as a leave in conditioner . It promises to nourish and condition hungry hair . The fragrance of this smells lush , the sweet fruitiness smells amazing as you lather it onto your hair. Results are shown immediately after washing , my hair was left soft smooth and manageable . 98 % of the ingredients in this come from a natural origin and is totally vegan too . There are four different types of masks for all types of hair so any type of hair can get the love of hair food. I love that this hair food can be used three ways so I can incorporate it into my routine with ease .

Banana hair armour

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair gets quite damaged at the ends from colouring and styling. This banana scent smells amazing and the formula is lightweight. It’s a creamy consistency that’s easy to apply and work through hair. I like to use it as a mask. It rinses out easily and doesn’t leave any heavy or greasy residue. I find my hair is so easy to comb after using this. My hair feels super smooth and silky soft. My hair feels healthy, nourished and cared for. My ends aren’t dry and my hair feels and looks so much better. I really like using this as it’s versatile mainly natural ingredients and vegan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tested the banana and shea hair food treatment. It came in a plain tub so I didn't have any instructions so I used it as an intensive conditioner, applying to my hair after shampooing and leaving for 5 minutes. The product is thick and creamy and had a pleasant smell of bananas without being overpowering. It was easy to rinse out and left my hair east to comb and style. My hair was left shiny and soft, very manageable and no sticky residue! I really like that the product didn't weigh my hair down like a lot of intensive conditioners/masks do. I will definitely be using again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a while ago as I love hair masks but this has to be my favourite so far that I've tried the banana and shea smells Amazing it always leaves my hair looking super shiny and feeling so soft, I usually have to watch with conditioners as my hair is so fine but the Garnier hair food is perfect, I've also left it in overnight for a deep conditioning and it really does work wonders, I think it's great you can use this so many ways I've even popped some in a spray bottle with water and used it as detangling and leave in spray for my daughter who has natural curls and its such a massive tub it last forever. So all in all I would definitely recommend this banana and shea hair food as it is wonderful!!!
