This is the second brand of shampoo bar I have tried, the other one being a lot more expensive, and I found this one superior. The smell is amazing and it lathers like a normal shampoo, really easily. It left my hair smelling and feeling nice and did a good job at cleaning my hair. It would be fantastic to travel with too as it doesn’t take up much space and there would be no risk of it leaking!! I am totally converted to shampoo bars now and will definitely buy this product again when my sample one runs out. Love love love it.

Perfect for travelling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed was the incredible scent of watermelon coming out of the cardboard packaging, it is so strong but it smells Yum!
I have been teasing out this product for a few weeks now.. and well it works, it does the job, it's quick and easy to use. I did find it much easier to soap the bar up in my hands first rather than to apply the bar straight to my roots like the packaging suggests.
This would be super easy to take with you if you were travelling for a short period of time. No need for big bulky shampoo bottles. I also love that this product is a vegan formula.
I would recommend this product to my family and friends for short term use.

Game changer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I love how this product is made with sustainable packaging which is a huge plus in my books.
I’ve never used a bar shampoo before so this was a completely different experience for me.
I found it really easy to use, as all you have to do is rub the bar into wet hair and it starts to foam up instantly. It didn’t tangle my hair like a lot of other shampoos tend to do.
It was really nice to massage in and rinse off and don’t even get me started on the smell!! This smells amazing, I could smell watermelon all day but it wasn’t a super overpowering smell ether.
I highly recommend trying this product as it’s a game changer for you and for the environment.

I used the item between twice to three times a week together with my normal routine of shower or bath products and it worked well for my hair. My hair gets oily quickly and this product definitely helped make it less noticeable and become oily slower. The product is very easy to apply and smells amazing. Even just from opening the box the room filled with the watermelon smell. My only issue was that the box received was slightly squashed and the product had rubbed off onto the sides of the cardboard. Overall, highly recommend!

Smells heavenly and lasts forever

I had already used the Garnier Watermelon Hair Mask/Conditioner, so I was so excited to use this shampoo bar, they both smell heavenly and complement each other beautifully. After using the shampoo bar for 3 weeks now, my hair looks so shiny and smooth and feels so silky which I'm so impressed with. I love how sustainable this shampoo bar is and how easy it is to reduce your plastic wastage just by switching to a shampoo bar instead of plastic bottled shampoo. The idea was quite foreign to me, as I have never used a shampoo bar but I have to say I was impressed at how well it cleaned my hair. The process takes a bit of time to get use to and I have to say I don’t love the way it looks in my shower but I do like the idea that it is better for the environment, but I think if I continue to buy it then I would buy a cute little soap dish for it to sit on. But I love that Garnier is really making an effort to move towards a more eco friendly direction.

Watermelon heaven

I was pleasantly surprised by how well it lathers for a 2-in-1 shampoo bar and it leaves my hair feeling so clean and soft. It's great for traveling too being so compact and I love that it contains 94% plant based ingredients. It does slightly add volume to my fine hair, but it's nothing crazy. It would also be much better value for money as it lasts up to 2 bottles of liquid shampoo. Definitely worth trying, especially if you're considering making the switch to environmentally friendly hair care.

It was very easy to rinse our of my hair aswell. I love the fact that it is zero waste being a bar and not a liquid shampoo in a bottle too. My hair was soft and shiny after use and it smelt great too. It thoroughly cleaned my hair and my greasy hair stayed clean for three days before i even thought about washing it again. I highly recommend this shampoo bar to anyone who cares for the environment and is trying to reduce their waste. Great great product!

It seems very long lasting as you don't use much at all each time, just a couple of strokes back and forth on the top of my head and it lathers up beautifully from there. It doesn’t irritate my hair or scalp at all and the scent is just beautiful. It has a very strong watermelon smell when you first open the box, but it is not overpowering on the hair after use. It definitely does what it says and is a volumising product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved how this product was plastic free. It comes in a nice box and is a lovely shade of fruity pink. It is sort of round ish in shape but easy to hold in one hand so that you can use the other hand to lather up properly. It is very easy to use, but I felt like I had to lather it up a few times to get enough product actually into my hair. It definitely gives a good, deep clean, but was quite drying without conditioner. Once I followed it with a conditioner, my hair was very clean and back to its normal amount of shine. This shampoo bar has a pleasant watermelon scent that was quite strong although I do prefer my products to only be lightly scented as I do find the smells can be distracting.

-after using salon hair care for many years i just cant get the same results. Sure my hair felt clean but it wasnt that same squeaky clean feeling. The lather wasnt there and i know lather doesnt mean anything or do anything but the feeling is not the same. My hair smelt nice but that smell doesnt last and my hair just didnt feel as soft.
Ive used the hair mask treatments and i like them but my hairdresser doesnt haha i continue tobuse them though!!

This product comes in your traditional soap bar format and it's designed to last up to 500ml / 2 bottles worth of the bottled version.
The application was simple and the shampoo didn't strip the oils from my fine oily hair or cause product build up. I loved how it left my hair feeling clean and volumised while also controlling the oils throughout the day. In terms of the price range wished that it was more affordable and came in different sizes. Also would of loved to see a larger range to suit all hair types. Apart from that, I really enjoyed using this shampoo!

I found the product to be an interesting context in terms of saving waste, given that there was no plastic packaging. I enjoyed the lather created by this shampoo bar, and I have to say, it was my first time trialling a shampoo bar on my fine, somewhat oily and keratin-treated hair. I was surprised that I was able to properly able to lather the product, as I anticipated some difficulty, but I was pleasantly surprised. My felt volumised and clean, but not overly so. I paired this occasionally with the Watermelon Hair Food treatment or conditioner, which also worked really well and smelled amazing.

I love the concept of it being a bar and lasting longer then one bottle but a little inconvenient to find somewhere to put the bar after use for it to dry. I do have fine hair and there was a noticeable difference with it having slight volume to it instead of it being flat. My hair felt incredibly soft after continuous use of this product and also found it helped control my frizz. Not sure if there is also a conditioner to match as I have yet to find one but would definitely buy to give them a chance together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried the shampoo bar for a few weeks and found the watermelon shampoo bar smells AMAZING, I love that it’s eco friendly packaging, but it leaves my hair feeling extremely frizzy and just out of control. I have frizzy hair though so I’m not sure how it would go on straight hair. I wouldn’t recommend it on hair that is curly or frizzy because it made it unmanageable. The application of the bar is difficult to and as much as it smelt good, and it’s eco friendly, I’ve found I would prefer a shampoo bottle for ease of use and convenience. I wouldn’t personally purchase the product for myself but I definitely say if you have straight hair and don’t mind a bit of application time if you have long hair, then definitely try it.

Im very new to this shampoo bar concept but I wanted to give this a try. I decided to use environmentally friendly products this year and given that this Garnier Fructis Hair Food Shampoo Bar - Watermelon Is eco friendly unlike the plastic shampoo bottles I find this a winner. This works just like a liquid shampoo. Doesn’t leave my hair dry and it smells amazing all day. My hair feels soft and healthy and super clean. Love it. Give it a go. It’s amazing. It comes in a 60g bar and is pink in colour. My first impression is that it smells amazing!! It smells like watermelon.
it is labeled as volumising and a 2 in 1 cleanse and care. i didn't notice any difference in the volume of my hair and i don't really know what the 2 in 1 means, its just a shampoo.
Compared to other shampoo bars i have used in the past this one lathers up really well and a little goes a long way.
after drying my hair felt clean and light. it wasn't weighed down with silicones.
it doesn't contain any silicones, preservatives, plastic waste or artificial colours.
I also like that because its compact, it is great for travelling.

I have used it over the last few weeks approx. 4 times a week and have loved the feel of it in my hair during washing and after. It’s really easy to use and perfect for my hair that gets quite oily, quickly. It’s crazy how long the shampoo bar lasts and I think moving forward I would consider using shampoo & conditioner bars not just because they work well on my hair but, the fact it’s environmentally friendly is an added bonus. The smell of watermelon is also a plus. It makes the shower smell amazing.

I was so impressed with the smell of the product firstly - the watermelon scent is so nice, natural and fresh. I was also impressed by how easily the bar lathers up, how clean it leaves my hair and how my hair looks afterwards - shiny, easy to manage and full of volume. I also especially loved how quick it was to use - much quicker than using three different types of shampoo, conditioner & treatment products like I usually do.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to try something different that is really eco friendly. It truly is a lovely product in a gorgeous little package.

Gorgeous scent, leaves hair soft

I had never used a shampoo bar before and was curious so I decided to try this one after reading reviews. The thing I loved most was the scent, it has a sweet watermelon candy like scent which is really delicious and lasts for ages. It’s easy to use, just lather the bar, I found it easiest to do this just by wetting the bar and rubbing it in my hands. It does disintegrate and is a bit messy though. I found it’s far easier and less messy to use a normal shampoo but that’s just my personal preference. It does leave my hair feeling soft and silky and styling was easy. I have thick hair and I don’t think the bar was the most suitable product for washing it, I feel it would be better suited to fine hair. I love garnier and this was quite a good product that smells beautiful

Upon opening the package, the watermelon smell was super sweet and strong, almost overpowering although I do like the smell normally. However when I used this, I did find it hard to get a good lather of the product, and it made my hair feel rough and knotty, even after using a conditioner after. Personally I wouldn’t use this product again as it didn’t suit my hair type.

It is actually a really handy shampoo for using it on my kids. It means they don’t use up the shampoo bottle in one wash haha. It soaps up really well and you only need a little bit. It is a pink colour and a great size. Doesn’t slip out of my hand in the shower. Does give a nice volume to hair. My hair was left feeling really clean afterwards. It’s a fun way to shampoo hair.

Budget and Eco Friendly Bar!

I know you can get this at Chemist Warehouse regularly 50% off.
The bar is effective at cleansing the hair without stripping or drying it. There is negligible volumising properties, in my experience, but rarely do any shampoo or conditioners actually help volumise my hair. It is usually post wash products that do this.
The sent is exactly like a watermelon candy, so note this if you are fussy about scents, as it also clings to the hair which I very much enjoy!
This bar doesn't degrade like others. I have been a little lazy in leaving it in a dry place and it has not melted or degraded in anyway. That being said, always try to drain and dry your bars to ensure they do hit the life expectancy you want from them!

Upon opening this bar was a great size and had a wonderful scent. The texture of the product was nice, the bar fantastic to use and makes washing hair that much easier. It left my locks feeling cleansed and nourished, hair was silky soft and easy to brush. I would recommend this product to others, offers a great clean and foams up well while leaving locks beautifully pampered with a gentle, pleasant fragrance. I like that it is a vegan formula, 98% biodegradable and dermatologically tested. Such a neat product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've honestly never tried a bar shampoo before. I've always played with the idea of purchasing one but have never actually done it. When I first used the product, I found it a bit difficult to use and that there was a bit of a learning curve. It takes a little bit longer to get up a lather and to wash your hair but the overall result is the same as a liquid shampoo! And the smell! Oh my! It smells absolutely amazing and the scent lasts in your hair (and wherever you keep the shampoo bar) for days on end. I love that it is almost completely biodegradable and that each bar is equivalent to 2 x 250 ml shampoo bottles. And it's so small it fits in the palm of your hand! It does leave my hair a little tangled because I keep going back in with more product because you don't really get much at a time but nothing that conditioner can't fix.

Great for camping!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where do I start with this little pocket sized shampoo bar! First of all I must make mention that the smell is DEVINE, it takes me back to my early teens when I used to obsess over the watermelon flavour. The aesthetics of the packaging is pleasing, nice and bright and I love how they make mention that the product is 94% plant derived. I decided to take this bad boy camping with me as it can be hard trying to squeeze in your normal sized bottles of shampoo/conditioned. I applied the shampoo bar to my roots and moved my way to my ends and made a nice little lather. As I have fine hair I found I didn't have to rub the soap very much to have the lathered affect. It washed out nicely and when my hair naturally dried I found it to be quite soft and super shiny! I think this will be a product I will be re-running in the future, it has my tick of approval!!!

Great for short -medium length hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What I love about this bar is that it reduces plastic waste! The value is evident- the bar is lasting and easily foams which means that a little bit goes a long way.
In terms of a lather, the bar took a while to form a decent foam. Maybe this is because I have long hair and I needed more product? I would suspect this bar would be perfect for short to medium hair!
What I would also say is that I think the scent is a bit too overpowering. The watermelon scent can be detected from outside the packaging and is a bit on the sickly sweet side.
I would also mention that for price, the bar was surprisingly small. I would have expected a bigger bar.
This all being said, it is great to see Garnier deliver on a range of sustainable products and I would happily invest in other products in this range to find the best fit because it does mean Less plastic waste at the end of the day!

I'm In Love With This Shampoo Bar!

I wash my hair every night and this hair food has been brilliant. I decided to buy this product for environmental purposes, I wasn't too worried about how good it was. But I was absolutely delighted to discover it's the best shampoo I've ever used. I'm dedicated to making sure this is our number one hair product. To top it off the scent is delicious the whole bathroom smells delightful.

Great smell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky to try this as part of the review crew. First of all, it definitely smells divine- a very strong watermelon scent through and through. I love that after using it the scent isn't too strong on my hair but it does leave it smelling like lollies for a couple of days after. Having mostly natural origin ingredients is a plus, as I do normally use 100% natural toxin-free products in my hair. This isn't totally that, but it's closer to being more natural than most products on the market which is great.
What I didn't like is that it leaves my hair very annoyed afterwards and my hair tangles easily with this. I'm not sure if it's the process of having to rub the bar on my head or the ingredients, but it's unfortunately a big-no for me for that reason
I love that it's a bar and using no plastic too- great for the environment. I'd prefer to use the ethique hair bars over this though.
Overall, smells great but the tangles just aren't fun!

Wonderful Shampoo Bar!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier Fructis Hair Food Shampoo Bar (Watermelon) is a very compact item, making it travel-friendly. The product comes in 100% FSC recyclable cardboard packaging, therefore having zero plastic waste and benefitting the environment. You receive a substantial amount of product for a reasonable price which will last a very long time.
The shampoo bar left my hair feeling throughly cleansed without stripping the natural oils out of my hair. The scent is very sweet and it keeps my hair smelling good after use. However, the scent doesn’t linger which is good as it can be a bit strong, but not overbearing.
My hair which is generally very flat has gained a considerable amount of volume since beginning the use of this product. I have also noticed a significant increase to the health of my hair, including additional shine and thickness. I am very pleased with this shampoo bar and would 100 percent recommend it to my friends, family and anyone with fine hair.

Definitely needs more R&D

I purchased this product to help with space constraints while travelling. I used it at Easter and was reasonably impressed however 8 weeks later - I again used it and it seems to have gone off. It now has a peculiar smell and left my hair dull and flat

I loooooove this product! My dandruff just went away on one wash. Not that it is being advertised as such. It lathers so well a little amount goes a long way. Smells great. Hair feels clean and shiny

At first I was a bit skeptical about a shampoo bar since I have always used liquid shampoo. But I was genuinely surprised how easy it is to use and it gave great volume to my hair!
