FAQs

How often should I use an aloe vera hair mask?

You can use the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Multi-Use Aloe Vera Hair Mask 1-2 times a week, depending on your hair’s hydration needs. If your hair is particularly dry or dull, using it twice a week can help restore softness and shine.

How do you hydrate a dry scalp effectively?

For a dry scalp, use a hydrating treatment with aloe vera to soothe and restore moisture. Pair it with a shampoo fromulated for dry hair and apply a scalp mask or serum 2–3 times a week. Avoid overwashing or harsh products that strip natural oils.

How long should I leave aloe vera on hair?

As a hair mask, leave it on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse.
As a leave-in treatment, apply a small amount and no rinsing needed.
As a conditioner, rinse after a quick 1-2 minute application.

Amazing

I’m in love with garnier hair foods. Currently I have the macadamia, banana and aloe and I have to say the aloe is my favourite by far. I’ve found it works wonderfully as a mask, though I always leave it in for a minimum of 20 minutes (not 1 minute like the instructions say) I’ll admit I’m a little lazy though, so lately I’ve just been using a small amount throughout damp hair after each shower. It smells amazing (a little less potent than the others) and does not feel greasy or sticky on your hands thanks to it having no silicones and it does a great job at limiting the amount of frizz, especially if you spread some at the top of your head where you tend to have fly aways. Over all a great product and it’s a plus that it’s almost all natural too. Would definitely recommend.

I have used many of the Hair Foods that Garnier have and have never had an issue. I choose depending on if I have coloured my hair or the time of year. I used the hydrating Aloe Vera and ended up with an allergic reaction that covered anywhere my hair touched, my head felt on fire. I followed directions on the packaging. I will now avoid any aloe Vera product that Garnier makes as I’m unsure if I’ll react and have a reaction. I have never reacted to any Aloe Vera products before.

A fabulous hair mask!

MunchKim2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hair loves Garnier's Ultimate Blends Hair food and this one especially. The scent is mostly very sweet with the floral-y Aloe scent almost obliterating any coconut but it is there in the background. The mask itself is easy to scoop from the tub and spreads well. I found combing it through gave me the best results as it made sure I'd coated each strand! Once dry my hair was not weighted down by this product in any of the ways I used it, my favourite has to be as a mask but using it as a leave-in allowed the lovely scent to follow me around all day and I had no tangles which was a huge bonus

Yes, I recommend this product.

3 in 1!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Garnier aloe vera hair food is a three in one hair product that can be used as a conditioner, a hair mask or as a leave in treatment. I thought the product smelled amazing, so fresh and clean and it even lingered after I had washed it out. I decided to use it as a conditioner as well as a hair mask. The product is vegan and contains 98% natural ingredients that helps with hydrating hair. The product is creamy but not too thick so I can easily apply it to my hair. After I washed it out it left my hair feeling soft and manageable which made brushing my hair much easier while also keeping my hair hydrated and healthy. The large tub is also great because it will last me awhile so I'll be set for months!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Lovely fragrance and left my hair feeling so soft

Kelli N.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really really like this product! Firstly, I enjoy the versatility as you can use this 3 ways - as a hair mask, conditioner and a leave in product. It contains hydrating aloe vera and is for normal to dry hair. I prefer to use this as a conditioner, and found that it left my hair feeling really smooth, soft and shiny. The perfect trifecta! I also really like the fragrance (which is more artificial I suspect). It linger for days which I find doesn't happen with a lot of other conditioners. Because of this, I have rated this highly as it's a product I will enjoy using.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Garnier Fructis Hair Food Aloe Vera is a great budget fuss-free hair treatment to nourish your hair while you brush your teeth in the shower. It smells fresh/floral (ish) and has 98% natural origin, biodegradable and vegan, with no silicones, no parabens and no artificial colourants! So it won't build up in your hair...yay! I usually buy it when it's half price so I can be generous with my application. I just grab a scoop, lather it on and wait for 2 mins while I brush my teeth. It is light on my hair and doesn't weigh it down but doesn't make it frizzy either.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hydrating and Nourishing Aloe Vera hair food

Caryl A.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found the Garnier Fructis hydrating aloe vera hair food to be very hydrating for my dry and dull hair type. It was easy to use as a conditioner, as well as a 1 minute hair mask and as a leave-in treatment. It makes styling hair post shower easier, which meant it kept my hair nourished and non-drying or frizzy. I found however, the scent was overwhelming for me. This was something that I wished it didn't have. Not that my hair is sensitive, but the scent was just too much. If there was a fragrance-free option, I would surely enjoy using this product more.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Smells like holiday

Amelia1306

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the banana hair food so I was thinking this one wouldn't be as good, I was wrong! This smells amazing, like a holiday in a tub! The coconut and aloe smell work very well together to create a fresh clean smell. I've tried it as a conditioner and as a mask and I'm a big fan! My hair feels really soft and I've had compliments on how shiny it looks. I have long hair so can become tangled and take a while to brush once washed but this seemed to help a lot! Another great one garnier! Now I have to switch between banana and aloe! Love them both.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this product and I love that you can use it in multiple ways! My favourite was using it as a 1-minute mask after shampooing. My hair can be quite dull / dry and this left it so hydrating and nourishing, and just easy to manage post shower. I loved the smell, it wasn’t in any way over bearing and it was quite subtle, and I love how affordable this product is. The tub is quite big so it will last a few months too. I love that this product is vegan with 98% natural ingredients. I will definitely keep using this when my hair needs a pick me up.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Smells amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with this product and it suited my problematic hair, which tends to be dry, fine and thin. After a few uses, I found that a little is all that was needed. It wasn’t as thick as others I have tried, but maybe that is why I didn’t experience weighed down hair after using it. For such a small price, its multi use - hair mask, leave in treatment and intense conditioner – is real value for money, and especially given that it works! My hair was left soft and smelling amazing! Once the very large pot runs out, I will certainly be buying more.

Yes, I recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed using this product, it’s so useful having multiple ways to apply it, My go-to is using it as a hair mask, applying after shampoo and leaving it for several minutes before washing off. I also got nice smooth ends after applying a little to the mid lengths and ends of damp hair. I found the product to have more of a cleansing effect rather than nourishing. After use my hair and scalp felt so clean and fresh thanks to the Aloe Vera! I would definitely reccomend this for a deep cleanse after a busy day or gym session!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Disappointing end result

MissManz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a natural curly afro which tends to dry out easily so I'm always on the hunt for good quality conditioners that hydrate. I was excited to try this as it had a lot of natural ingredients in. It smelt lush and felt great as I was applying it. Sadly though, once my hair had dried I was left with a fluffy, parched texture. I tried it again on dry hair and same thing - great initially and then as soon as the product dried my hair felt like straw. Really disappointing, although I think this may suit someone with a different hair type to me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ultra hydrating hair food from Garnier is a really great 3 in one product for all hair types. It can be used as a conditioner after shampooing, a hair mask after shampooing and conditioning hair or a leave in hair treatment. It is very light weight, smells amazing and leaves my hair silky soft. I love that It contains no nasties which is also a big plus for me as I know I’m not applying any chemicals to my hair or scalp. I have used several other products from the Garnier hair range but this hair mask is by far definitely my favourite.

Ultimate nourishment and instant results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Garnier's Aloe Vera and Coconut Ultimate Blends Hair Food Conditioner is hydrating and nourishing. It's fast absorbing texture blends into my hair detangling and nurturing it. The beautiful fragrance of the ingredients is refreshing to the senses and lingers on long after each hair wash. End result, my hair is softer, easy to manage, shiny, healthier and breakage free. Having tried all three methods of use, leave In, mask and conditioner throughout the week, I have noticed that my hair has strengthened and become sleek with a radiant glow.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product trial for Garnier When I opened the box i thought this was definitely a large sized tub, which i wasn't expecting!! (Loving the size of the pot) Once i opened the pot the smell of coconut was amazing it was strong and the consistency was nice and thick (but not to thick) Now i have some issues with my hair as in dry and breaking, but when i was letting the product sit in my hair it was making my hair feel so soft. Once washed out and dried, my hair smells lovely, and my hair feels soft. Thank you GARNIER! X

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have fine straight hair that drys at the ends, after using this for about a week my hair felt soft and was easy to manage. I also usually get a lot of knots but haven't had that issue since using the mask. The tub is huge and smells lovely, not too overpowering and it smells like sweet aloe vera and leaves your hair smelling lovely after washing. The texture is thick but not greasy and it washes out easily without leaving any residue. Overall a great product and love that the product is vegan and free of parabens and colours.

Not well suited to my fine curly/wavy hair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have fine curly/wavy hair which is always in desperate need of moisture so I was very excited to try this. I used it in all three ways - as a conditioner, a mask and also as a leave-in. As a mask and leave-in my hair was left feeling soft but flat and lifeless.. My curls was stretched and I had zero volume. Not the looking I’m going for. It was somewhat better when used as a conditioner, my hair had a little more volume and body but still not fantastic. I think it may be better suited to straight hair as it does condition well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a big tub of conditioner basically, it didn’t seem all that thick consistency but it did stay on my hair very well. I think my hair is just too dry at this moment to notice much difference, though I did have a lot of compliments of how soft my hair looked. My hair basically obsored this product very quickly. This product smells so good too, it has coconut water in it as well as aloe vera, the combination of both gives a subtle sweet smell. I would recommend this product if your hair just needs a bit of a ‘pick me up’.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m normally pretty dubious about products like this. They are normally too heavy for my hair and weigh it down terribly. This one is the exception to that rule! Honestly it felt super light on my hair despite it leaving my hair feeling extremely nourished. I used it all three ways but my favourite was definitely just as a normal conditioner. The smell is lovely without being overpowering. Honestly if you are looking for a product that nourishes your hair but your hair doesn’t like being weighed down, this is for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly, the smell is absolutely gorgeous and the tubs are huge! I have used this as a normal conditioner and deep conditioner as advertised, both have left my hair feeling unbelievably soft and light with a scent that lasts all day. I have quite fine hair so I only need a small amount so this tub is going to last ages. The only issue was that when using, it doesn’t de-tangle my hair as well as some conditioners do, but this is a very small price to pay for such an amazing product. Will definitely be buying again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the branding on this product, i was drawn to it because of the vegan element and 98% been natural products which i think is important for hair products. Its a big pot and you get a lot in it so it will go a long way. Also like the versatile use being leave in, use as conditioner or as a mask. I must admit for results i didnt find it really hydrated my hair anymore than my conditioner. usually when i use a hair mask it feels a lot smoother and stronger in condition but this didnt seem to have that result.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love anything aloe vera, and I’ve used aloe vera products in my hair before, but this is one of the best I’ve tried. It smells so clean and fresh, and not as sticky as other ones. After applying this to my hair for a few days now, my hair is noticeably softer with a nice bounce to it. My hair feels healthier as well, which helps reduce the previous damage I’ve done to it from all the styling I’ve done to date. I recommend this to anyone who wants to give their hair a boost, it’s effective and reasonably priced.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this product so much. It works in three ways - hair mask, normal conditioner or leave in and it ticks all three boxes perfectly. My hair felt light and was super shiny. I have straight hair cut in a bob and I normally use straighteners when styling but my hair was so smooth and soft after using this product I didn’t need to. The fragrance is fresh and long lasting and my hair looked great the next day even after sleeping. It suits my hair perfectly and has become my favourite conditioning product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved using this 3 in 1 hair food by Garnier, it has great versatility a leave in treatment, deep conditioner or mask. The large tub is also great value for money, and easy to scoop out product, the only down side is it also is easy to get water into the container if you are using it in the shower. I preferred to use the hair food as a mask as I have long dry hair, it left my hair feeling soft hydrated and norished, without leaving my hair feeling heavy or oily. Highly recommended!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried 3 hair masks so far. Much as I love them all for lovely smell and the goodness they do to my hair, this one wins hands down. It has the most gentle smell of them.all, not too overpowering, just nice and pleasant. I used it on wet hair after shampooing and I could feel the result near enough straight away. My hair felt smooth and soft. After blow drying my hair felt nourished and my normally dry ends felt much softer. I'm pretty impressed with the result after just one use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised when I opened the tub because there was no strong perfume. The consistency was a bit gloomy but nono matter matter. I followed the instructions and used it as an ordinary conditioner. The result was soft healthy looking hair. Next time I used it as a leave-in conditioner and again the result was very favourable. After a few days I tried it on dry hair but I have not mastered this technique and it felt greasy. I will persevere because otherwise it's worth the cost.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am torn about this product. On one hand it smells great and makes my hair feel super thick after using it as a conditioner. On the other hand, it makes my hair very tangled and a little dry. I also let my mother use it who has very long thick hair, and it really dried out her hair too. The more I use it, the better it seems to become. But having to get past that initial stage is frustrating. I will keep using it, though I doubt it's something I'll purchase in the future.

No, I do not recommend this product.
