How To Define Your Curls

Wavy Hair

Wavy hair, or Type 2 Hair, are light to intense waves that create an “S” shape. It is important to use a shampoo and conditioner that are specifically designed for wavy hair. These products will help to gently cleanse the scalp without striping away essential moisture. To maximise your look, scrunch a lightweight styler into your hair while it’s damp. Our Fructis Style Curl Control Mousse is perfect for wavy hair to help maintain bounce and shininess all day long. Be sure to pat dry any excess drips once you're happy with the shape. Try to avoid heat styling as much as possible. If you do use heat tools, be sure to use a heat protectant product beforehand.

Curly Hair

Curly hair, or Type 3 Hair, loops back on itself and springs back into place when you pull on it.  To maintain healthy type 3 hair, it is important to use a shampoo and conditioner that are specifically designed for curly hair.  Use Garnier's Fructis Macadamia Hair Food Shampoo and Fructis Macadamia Hair Food Conditioner together, to keep your type 3 curls moisturised and healthy-looking. To keep your hair from clinging too close, use curly hair styling products such as a jelly styler, rake fingers through hair, then shake it out. Type 3 hair is prone to frizz, so moisture is essential. Apply a leave-in conditioner or curl cream to help define your curls and prevent frizz. When styling, use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to avoid damaging the hair. For a natural look, allow your hair to air dry. Taking good care of your type 3 hair will help keep it looking healthy and gorgeous.

Coily Hair

Coily hair, or Type 4 Hair, tightens the “S” shape into densely packed curls that might even look more “Z” shaped. Hair texture ranges from fine and thin, to wiry and coarse. Coily hair is prone to dehydration - prevent and treat your hair with our Fructis Coconut Water Shampoo alongside our Fructis Coconut Water Conditioner to keep ends hydrated and healthy. Also be careful when brushing or combing your hair. Use a wide-toothed comb or a detangling brush, and take extra care not to tug or pull at knots.Start from the bottom and work your way up slowly to avoid damage.
