FAQ

Dandruff: what are the causes?
Dandruff is caused by an over-production of the yeast found on the scalp, leading to an immunarity reaction.

The scalp’s yeast is called Malassezia Ovalis and is a micro-organism present in approximately 45% of micro-flora of healthy scalps.

The proliferation of Malassezia Ovalis in some people creates a reaction on the surface of the scalp: over-shedding of the skin, leading to visible dandruff.

Garnier has developed a range of anti-dandruff products: shampoos and conditioners. This anti-dandruff range has a double action: moisturising the scalp and fortifying the hair.
This range contains ingredients such as Pyrithione Zinc, to invigorate and cleanse the scalp and vitamin B3, to fortify the hair.
