This website is owned and run by Garnier Australia (“Garnier”). Garnier is subject to the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This document sets out Garnier’s policy relating to the collection and use of your personal information when you use our website (“Website”). This policy applies to your conduct on the Website and is in addition to Garnier’s website terms and conditions of use and should be read in conjunction with such terms and conditions of use.
We may occasionally modify this privacy policy and will post those changes on this page. We may let you know via the homepage when this happens but you should check the policy frequently to read the changes.
Please note that the Website may contain links to and from other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites and the information practices of those websites are not covered by this privacy policy.

What information do we collect? How do we use it?
Garnier has created a membership program which offers a personalised Garnier experience. To become a member and obtain full benefits of Garnier membership, you must register your details with us and opt in to receive further information by Garnier.
If you become a Garnier member, we collect and use personal information from you so that we can provide you with the benefits of Garnier membership, and to allow us to develop new products, offers and services which are relevant to you. From time to time, we may use the information you give us for marketing purposes (for example to develop or promote our products or services), to send you e-newsletters and email updates, and information about promotional offers and competitions. We will also send you member only offers and regular updates of our products and services. Once you have become a Garnier member, we may continue to collect personal information about you in order to provide you with the full benefits of membership. We may share information you give us with other carefully selected companies.
When you visit the Website, we will not collect any personal information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily. If you opt not to provide us with personal information you can still access our Website; however you will be unable to obtain or participate in any Garnier membership.
When you visit the website our servers will automatically record information about your usage of the Website whenever you visit the Website, such as the time of the visit, its duration and the pages you visit. If you have not identified yourself on the Website, such as by registering for membership or logging in as a member, the information we collect about you remains anonymous.

Do we share the information we receive?
Personal information received from you via the Website will only be used by Garnier, except as otherwise required by law or as Garnier specifically discloses to you when the information is collected.

  • where third parties appointed by Garnier (for example, our advertising agencies) require access to personal information in order to perform services for Garnier and where such third parties are under an obligation to keep that information secure and confidential;
  • within the Garnier (and L'Oréal) group in accordance with the law;
  • where Garnier is required or authorised by law to disclose personal information, for example to law enforcement agencies;
  • with your consent; or
  • where otherwise consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and any other applicable law.

  • Where will the data be stored? How secure is it?
    We will take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information we hold about you and to keep this information accurate and up to date. Your information is stored on our in-house database which only our employees and agents can access. This, or the dynamics of the Internet may mean that information is sent electronically to servers outside of the country where you originally entered the information. In addition, that information may be used, stored and processed outside the country where you entered that information.
    Unfortunately, no data transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.


    What about "cookies" - do we use them?
    Garnier may collect and use certain aggregate data called clickstream information (such as your web browser, operating system, pages visited, etc) and use cookies when you visit our web pages. "Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. We only use cookies to keep track of the pages you visit on the Website and to tell us whether you have visited the Website previously so that, in order to serve you better, we understand how you and other visitors use the Website. Our cookies and clickstream information do not contain any personal information. They do not contain personal information such as your name or email address.

  • Accuracy of Your Personal Information
    If you are a Garnier member, you can access, change and update your membership profile at any time by logging into the HerbaShine Website.
    You can also seek to update or verify the accuracy of your personal information submitted to Garnier through the Website by emailing us at enquiries@herbashine.com.au.
    You can request that we delete your personal information by cancelling your Garnier membership. This can be done by via the Website by clicking on the unsubscribe link and entering your email address. We will make a reasonable effort to delete your personal information once you cancel your Garnier membership, and you will no longer receive any further correspondence including any direct mailouts.
