The results are in for Love your Beach

Garnier and Surfrider Foundation Australia have joined forces to help take care of your favourite beaches so you can keep enjoying them for years to come.

By increasing awareness of the many issues impacting on our enjoyment of the coast and wanting to keep them in a pristine condition for many years to come, Garnier & Surfrider Foundation Australia held beach clean-ups at several of Australia's favourite spots. With the help of hundreds of beach lovers, volunteers and locals, Love Your Beach managed to clear over 450kg of domestic rubbish from beaches in Freshwater, St Kilda, Noosa and the Gold Coast.

And we're clearly not the only ones who have a soft spot for the sand as over 2000 people wrote in to tell us how much they loved their beach and agreed that we should all help take care of them.

Love your beach winners

The main winner who won $5000

Name:
Judy Friedman of Strathpine, Qld.
My Beach:
Kings Beach at Caloundra.
Why we love our beach:
It's all about our kids. We should take care of it and keep it beautiful so kids can enjoy it for their children. This photo is taken on "Juju's Rock", our special place!
Why they won:
Judy's statement resonates with Surfrider as it is about protecting waves and beaches for generations to come, and protecting special places, a message we believe is key. The Sunshine Coast Surfrider branch will be able to use the $5000 donated to address Kings Beach issues such as water quality, sand replenishment and erosion.
